Twice The Music Experience at Eastwood City

Mar 16, 2009

March 13, 2009 — Two big acts in one day and in one exciting place. It was really twice the music experience as the Asia’s Songbird and the 80s premiere rock band performed at Eastwood City, Libis.

Regine Velasquez serenaded the crowd at Eastwood Mall Open Park. I’m not a Regine fan, but I really enjoyed the show. I felt that love was still in the air while Regine was on the stage. Regine’s enchanting voice and the scenic backdrop of the new Eastwood Mall Open Park set a romantic mood in Eastwood Mall Open Park.

Star Cinema announces sequel to 'You Changed My Life'

Mar 12, 2009

The victory party of You Changed My Life last Monday night, March 9, turned out to be a very emotional one as Director Cathy Garcia-Molina thanked everyone who made the movie possible, especially those who worked behind the scenes. “Maraming beses na ako umaakyat ng entablado, sa mga presscons or sa premiere night, pero ito ang isang bagay na hindi ko nagagawa. ABS-CBN has always taught us the value of meritocracy. And I think I am so guilty because hindi ko siya naisasabuhay. I failed to thank the people who have helped me finish a film every time… [Sa cast], you have made my tears go away literally. You all made me laugh. Natatanggal po nila yung sama ng loob ko. I know I can be a monster at times pero kayo yung nakakapitan ko every time,” she said in between tears during her moving speech.

John Lloyd Cruz also commended the crew for giving their all to the project despite the long working hours. Then he announced that he would share 10 percent of his fee to “the boys” who really went without sleep and baths for days just to deliver a quality movie on time for its playdate. “Kasi alam ni’yo, yung success ng pelikula, nakikita ni’yo lang kasi yung malalaking pangalan na nasa poster. Pero malaking part ng success ng pelikula yung hirap at pagod ng crew. And ako naiintindihan ko na we all live in a third world country. I don’t think they’re getting much of what they deserve. Ako I just want to share, para rin mas masarap ang tulog ko sa gabi,” he later explained to the network’s reporters who attended the occasion.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT MMK “BLUSA” ISSUE

Mar 12, 2009

Storytelling in Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) is always based on narratives sent to the program by people who want to share their stories. MMK decides to go into production of the chosen stories, ONLY after the letter sender has signed a waiver attesting to the authenticity of the story sent.

MMK recognizes that a number of UPLB alumni are questioning the truthfulness of one letter sender who claims that her sister, the main character in “Blusa” essayed by Ms. Angel Locsin, was indeed a UPLB BS AgriBusiness, summa cum laude graduate, who could not find a job and ended up as a stripper.
