Snow World Manila

Sep 29, 2008
After our family lunch out, my cousin Karen invited us to go to Snow World Manila. I’ve seen Snow World Manila on television and I find it interesting, so we all agreed to come.

Snow World Manila, located at Star City, features the Ice carvings of World Ice Sculpture Arts Champions. Winter Wonderland Entertainment partnered with Star City to bring the Snow World from Indonesia to Manila.

Upon entering the place, I was really amazed by the real snow, real ice sculpture and real ice slide! Not too mention, I was really freezing. The entire place was -15 degrees Celsius, could you imagine how cold it is? Anyway, we skipped the ice sculptures and headed directly to the main attraction, the 68 meters long ice slide. Everyone wanted to try the slide, so it took us time before we can experience the fun. It was really cold, I felt my feet started to get numb. (I was only wearing slippers). Maybe after 10 minutes of wait, our turn came. To be honest, I’m afraid of slides, but this is a one-time experience, so why not try it. I positioned myself and getting ready to slide, but I felt my heart was beating so fast, then my dad pushed me…. I just screamed and screamed but not because of fright, but because I was enjoying it. Even my Dad and Uncle Nenad tried the slide. It was really fun.

Too bad cameras are not allowed, so we had our photo taken by Snow World’s photographer. (100 per photo)

Above photo: (Left to right) Jeri, my cousin Karen, Me, my brother Nikko, my sister Kiss, and Uncle Nenad. Above us: my husband Monch and my dad.
On this picture: (Standing – Left to right) My dad, Nikko, my husband and Jeri
(sitting – left to right) Kiss, me, Karen and Uncle Nenad

We only stay there for 1 hour because we cant stand the coldness anymore. But it was definitely an experience to remember.

For those who want to experience the fun, you may visit Snow World Manila at Star City CCP Complex. Entrance is only P160.00

The Ateneo Blue Eagles wins UAAP championship

Sep 25, 2008
With my hubby, I took some break from my online tasks and watched the finals of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). And you read it right, Ateneo have defeated the De La Salle Green Archers and won the UAAP season 71 Finals with the score of 62-51.

Quoted from GMANews.tv:

The Eagles looked to breeze through Game Two after taking a 41-26 halftime lead but La Salle, behind the hot sniping of fifth-year guard JV Casio, made it 50-47 after the third quarter.

But Ateneo’s defense, the most vaunted in the tournament, helped the Eagles survive their determined opponents and dethrone the defending champions.

I’m neither from Ateneo or La Salle, but I studied at Miriam College, neigboring school of Ateneo. So, I cheered for Ateneo. I’m really happy for Ateneo. It was Ateneo’s fourth UAAP championship and second in the decade after winning in 2002.

Say no to milk and milk products from China!

Sep 20, 2008
I saw on the news last night that milk and other milk products from China are not safe. Most of the milk products have melanine which is used used in plastics, kitchens and etc. In short, this should not be an ingredient to food. Even Starbucks stopped serving drinks with milk as China crisis snowballs.

According to news, at least 6,200 babies were sick nationwide and 4 were killed because those milk powders tainted with the melamine.

Anyway, I did some research about melanine. Melanine is a a non-alimentary chemical which causes kidney stones. If you add this to milk and other food, it gives the appearance of higher protein levels, but it is very harmful to our health.

So, say no to these milk products.

YoVille

Looking for a fun game online? Do you have an account in Facebook? If yes, this is the game for you. Thanks to Mommy Ruby for the invitation to YoVille. Now, I’m hooked.

YoVille is a place where you can create your own players, shop for new clothes, purchase items for your apartment, go to work, and meet new friends.

YoVille has almost the same concept with The Sims. Though “the Sims” is more advance version of YoVille, but I’m not sure if you can play it online.

Interested? Join YoVille now. Hope you to see you there and please add AEIRIN as your friend.

You're my Number One

Sep 13, 2008

The whole day, I was singing the Nido song “You’re My Number One”. I really love this song, it’s so very touching and meaningful. Kudos to composer of this song. Not to mention Frankie and Miel are so cute on this commercial. If only I have children, for sure I’ll be singing this to them…

“You’re My Number One”
Lyrics by: Sandy Sulit
Music by: Caloy Agawa
Performed by: Sharon Cuneta, with daughters Frankie and Miel Pangilinan

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

And there’s no treasure
That I will cherish like you

And when I smile
They all see you glow
And they all know
You’re my number one

My one and only joy
Is to give you my love

(bridge)
My one love for you
I give through and through
I see you and the signs that bring joy
That all the world can see so clearly

Look at me mom
Shining like the sun
Bright as the day
You’re my number one

Update on my hubby's birthday

Sep 13, 2008
Tomorrow, I’ll be busy preparing for the surprise birthday party for my husband. He does not have any idea that there will be a party for him because he knows we are kinda short on the budget.

I just asked my mom to cook something for the party. I’ll cook my hubby’s favorite pasta, carbonara. My sister will buy barbecues and my cousin Ktrix will bring their guitar hero so we can play together again…

Anyway, here’s the plan:
4am: I’ll be online for some tasks,
6am: I have to clean the house.
9am: I should be in the grocery already.
Then go home straight so I can start cooking. I should be finish by noon…

The guest should come before 1pm, because my husband will be out in the office at 1pm. He will be home around 1:30 pm.

So, I hope things will happen according to plan. I hope he will like our surprise for him.

I’m still thinking of another surprise on the exact date of his birthday which is on Monday. A date or a spa maybe for the two of us? What do you think?
